LTO Now Offers Online License, Vehicle Registration Renewal

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) continues on its path towards modernity. Just a few days after they’ve announced the capability to produce the long-delayed vehicle number plates, the government agency has finally entered the digital age by giving people the chance to renew their driver’s license and vehicle registration online.

Via the LTO Online Web Portal, motorists will be able to set an appointment schedule with a selected LTO District Office for both driver’s license renewal and motor vehicle registration renewal.

Once a motorist accepts the Terms & Conditions of the website, it will ask for pertinent details such as Driver’s License Number (DL) or Motor Vehicle (MV) details. After which, the user will be asked to set an appointment at a preferred LTO site. The appointment will be confirmed by email and personal appearance is still required.

The catch is that the feature is only available district offices (and no renewal centers), although the LTO is planning to expand it to more district offices in the near future:

  • Marikina District Office
  • Muntinlupa Extension Office
  • Novaliches District Office
  • Pasig District Office

Another feature of the LTO Online Web Portal is that it allows motorists who have yet to receive their 3-year driver’s license card to find out if it’s ready for pick up.
