Nissan Celebrates Navara's Third Anniversary with a Climb Up Mt. Malasimbo
Nissan Philippines celebrated the Navara’s third anniversary in the Philippine market by testing out the updated 2018 model on the slopes of Mt. Malasimbo in Oriental Minodoro. The drive highlighted the Navara’s newest feature--a class-exclusive 360-degree bird’s eye view camera known as Around View Monitor or AVM.
“The Navara is one of our most successful vehicles in the market. In less than two years after its debut, the truck is now top three on the local pickup segment,” says Ramesh Narasimhan, NPI President and Managing Director. “This year, we are excited to showcase the capabilities of the new Navara with AVM through a driving experience at Mt. Malasimbo.”
The 6-hour drive from Occidental Mindoro to Mt. Malasimbo showcased the Nissan’s legendary toughness as the convoy sped through gravel, unfinished roads, remote paths with steep and narrow inclines. This is combined with the Navara’s suite of smart features such as its unique multi-link rear suspension and the NASA-inspired Zero Gravity high-density foam seats.
Reaching Mt. Malasimbo, the Navara’s various driving systems such as Hill Descent Control, Hill Start Assist, and Vehicle Stability Control were put to the test. In addition, the Around View Monitor allowed drivers to take accurate and calculated turns through the steep and narrow inclines.
“Nissan holds the distinction as the first automotive company to conduct a media drive in Mt. Malasimbo. We are happy for this opportunity to highlight how the revamped Navara offers a smoother road experience without giving up any of its toughness,” Mr. Narasimhan ends.
