SMC Asia Car Distributors Corporation launches the most sporting executive sedan in the world: the all-new 2018 BMW M5. Dubbed “the supercar with four doors,” the BMW M5 features extremely high levels of performance wrapped around a highly-practical sedan body. Best news of all? It’s priced at just half of a typical supercar with the same level of performance.
Continuing with its predecessors’ pure-bred racing genes, the sixth-generation M5 sports a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 engine delivering 600 horsepower and 750 Nm of torque. Together with an M-specific 8-speed automatic, the M5 decimates the century mark in just 3.4 seconds and the 200 km/h in just 11.1 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h.
More than just raw power, the M5 brings some civility with BMW M’s first-ever all-wheel drive system. Dubbed M xDrive, offers the same familiar blend of sportiness and accuracy both on the track and out on the open road, while giving enhanced stability and controllability in adverse driving conditions. Naturally, through driver-selectable driving modes, power can still be sent to the rear wheels. Braking ability is provided by 6-piston front vented disc brakes with carbon-ceramic brakes available as an option.
Outside, the 2018 M5 has all of the characteristic BMW M design elements including the widened tracks, large wheels and tires (275/35 R 20 in front, 285/35 R 20 at the back), and function over form aerodynamic elements such a M-specific lightweight aluminum hood, bumpers, side mirrors, skirts, rear apron, and rear spoiler. Even the roof material has been switched to a carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) to lower the center of gravity.
Inside, the F90 M5 has all the hallmarks of a driver-centric cabin with the new M leather steering wheel, unique heads-up display, and the latest BMW iDrive 6 system with the Navigation Professional sound system. It also has special sport seats with power adjust trimmed in Merino leather.
SMC Asia Car Distributors Corporation, the exclusive distributor of BMW in the Philippines is making the all-new M5 available in both standard and special colors. The hero color is the intense Marina Bay Blue Metallic, but matte finishes such as Frozen Dark Silver and Frozen Artic Gray are available as well.
The price for the all-new BMW M5 is P 14,790,000. While that sounds like a kingly sum, it could also be seen as a bargain given it can easily run with the likes of Ferraris and Lamborghinis as SMC Asia Car Distributors Corporation Chairman Ramon S. Ang said during the launch.

Really nice. But this is what makes the Nissan GTR at half the price, a better buy on a different perspective (if you don't mind choosing a Nissan over a BMW).
ReplyDeleteAgreed actually, but it's worth remembering that the similarly-powered GT-R NISMO is already P 13.2M. I think it'll be GT-R > M5, but M5 > GT-R NISMO.
DeleteI wonder what's the curb weight for both vehicles sir uly. For comparisons sake
