Mazda Philippines Sees Most Benefits When Using Shell Fuels

Bermaz Auto Philippines, the exclusive distributor of Mazda vehicles and parts in the country, and Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation, one of the country’s top fuel companies, have formalized a partnership that combines the fuel efficiency benefits of both premium brands for the benefit of Mazda new car buyers.

Through the partnership agreement entered into by Mazda Philippines and Pilipinas Shell, Mazda customers who purchase their brand new cars will be given a Shell Welcome Kit which contains Shell Fuel vouchers that they can immediately use to top up with their cars’ recommended fuel. Mazda new car customers will also receive Shell Select and Deli2Go vouchers along with a Shell Motorist Guide Book which contains helpful tips for effective car maintenance and efficient travels.

During a contract signing ceremony held recently at the Mazda Makati dealership, Mazda Philippines president and CEO, Steven Tan, affirmed the Japanese marque’s commitment to endorse Shell fuels to new car owners who purchase their vehicles from any of Mazda’s 20 dealerships nationwide.

“We have always believed in the high quality of Shell products and how these are the best fuels and to maximize the efficiency and performance of Mazda’s Skyactiv engines,” says Tan. “From the start, Shell has always been our partner in providing superior fuels to our customers.  Shell fuels more than meet the high standards not only of our vehicles, but also of Mazda owners who deserve only the best. This partnership guarantees that our customers will only be served the best fuels their new Mazda vehicles deserve.”

Pilipinas Shell general manager for retail, Anthony Lawrence Yam, meanwhile thanked Mazda Philippines for the continued trust and for naming Shell as Mazda’s fuel of choice.

“This is a great partnership because both Pilipinas Shell and Mazda have that strong commitment to make the customers’ journeys better everyday. We are two companies that, despite the heritage, continue to evolve in terms of technology and innovation. We are among the most modern in science that you can find in the market today,” shares Yam.

More than providing the basic essentials for new car owners, Shell is likewise a partner with Mazda in its latest nationwide marketing campaign.

The Sure Win promotion gives three chances for Shell customers to win a brand new Mazda vehicle. Aside from instantly winning discounts from their Shell fuel and product purchases, customers can drive home either a  premium Mazda CX-3 FWD PRO,  a CX-5 FWD PRO or a BT-50 4x2 A/T pickup through the Sure Win Scratch Cards they will receive from their fill-ups. Mazda’s endorsement of Shell fuels has made it one of the top automobile brands entrusted by the global fuel leader to promote its FuelSave and V-Power brands to the Philippine market.

    1. And what is the basis of your statement? My mazda 3 2.0 skyactiv consumes around 8-9km/L in normal city traffic. Not bad for a 2 liter gas engine. The best I achieved on the highway is 23km/L with a very light foot. Petron is dirtier than shell and has an additive for octane rating but it has a negative effect on skyactiv engines, that's why I stick to the recommended 91 octane fuel from shell. So far no problems after 2 years of usage.

    2. 8-9km/l is not bad for you? Thats the same as my old 2.7 gas fortuner.

    3. 8-9km/L is normal for the 2.7L fortuner... But on the highway. We owned one, city driving nets you around 4-5km/L.

    4. With the traffic nowadays? Your bulky heavy brick can't have that economy. And that 8-9km/l is @ and avg speed of 12km. Not bad. Early morning drives around 1am nets me 13km/l in the city.

  3. What if every new Mazda that rolls off the dealer's lot, naka full tank na? That would be nice.

    1. No, unfortunately not. 10 liters lang minsan, enough to drive the new car home or the nearest gas station.

    2. No dealership would do that crazy thing unless they place it as a promotion.

  4. Can we use shell higher octane rating for mazda 3 2018? Can this damage the engine?

    1. You can use higher octane fuel, but you're basically burning money. Stick to the manufacturer's recommended octane rating and you're okay.

    1. Actually I was advised to use V-Power Diesel or equivalent only for the diesel CX-5 and Mazda6. It's something to do with the cleanliness of the formulation.
