Toyota is Now Raffling Off FJ Cruisers

The Philippine automotive industry must really be slowing down. After becoming the country’s best-selling vehicle for 2017, Toyota Motor Philippines is now doing something to boost sales of the Fortuner SUV that was pretty much unthinkable last year: a raffle.

And it’s not just any raffle, mind you. It’s a raffle that can potentially snag you one of their most sought-after vehicles a few years back: the FJ Cruiser. Once a leisure SUV you can’t get without financing or accessories is now a raffle prize. Blame TRAIN, blame the insanely high gas prices, but hey, you still get the chance to win one of four FJ Cruisers. That sounds neat, right?

If you’re interested, all you need to do is buy a Fortuner at any of Toyota’s authorized dealers nationwide until July 31, 2018. Buyers are eligible to join a raffle that’ll help the country’s best-selling carmaker liquid stocks. Awesome.

No seriously. Buy a Fortuner and get the chance to win one of four FJ Cruisers. That’s not a typo. This offer is on top of existing promos such as low-down payment schemes. Go to your nearest Toyota dealership for details.

  1. How is this? Toyota PH still have stocks of the FJ? I thought it is already phased out?

    2017?

  2. If they're raffling it off, why not donate them to UN, Red Cross or some other relief organization that could actually use its off road capabilities for a GOOD thing?

Sad to see these end up with some rich person feeling entitled to use all that gas (and pollution) for his/her daily drive, just because they can afford it.

    1. No injured person would want to ride an FJ Cruiser.

Look at it. It looks horrible, it's hopelessly impractical, it's perpetually immature and it's basically the "baby bonjing" of SUV's.

Anyone would rather just succumb to their injuries than ride this SUV for cucks.

  3. c'mon..... this publicity stunt, like all raffles with major prizes, is staged..... only insiders will "win" those FJs while DTI will look the other way pretending the draw was legit.....

  4. Hmmm, seems this is a publicity stint by Toyota to sell more Fortuners to many Filipino Toyota addicts. Probably want to outclass the sales numbers from last year.

  5. Fortuners are good looking but the specs are primitive. No cam, no paddle shifter, rough suspension. Compared to the Montero which is it's closest competitor it's miles apart in specs. The only reason Fortuner got more sales than the Monty was the stigma of sua. That won't last, soon ppl will get over it. That's probably the reason of this promo. FJ is ugly. Looks good with Mr. Beans. But ey, if one got it for free why not.

    1. As for the first generation Montero vs Fortuner. We have found out that Montero quality is indeed inferior to Fortuner. Dami na sya sira vs Fortuner.
