2019 Mitsubishi Strada Set for November 9 Global Launch
UPDATED: Here is the 2019 Mitsubishi Strada (11/09).
Mark your calendars: Mitsubishi Motors has just revealed that the 2019 Strada (aka Triton aka L200) will make its global debut on November 9, 2018. Along with this announcement, Mitsubishi Motors has also released a new teaser photo.
The photo shows the 2019 Strada obscured by dust it kicked up as it zoomed across the computer-generated desert landscape. Zoom enough though and we can see some design elements that stick out.
First up, it’s very clear that the 2019 Strada is a mere facelift and not an all-new model. The hard points (A-, B-, C-pillar) look the same as the current Strada as does the sharp crease at the side that runs from the rear door to the bed itself. The side view mirrors also look carryover as does the antenna.
The front-end though looks dramatically changed. From the two teaser photos already shown, the 2019 Strada is set to gain the Dynamic Shield design concept with its futuristic X-shaped fascia. Though the final headlight treatment is still up for debate (will it be more Xpander with its split headlight/DRL design or Montero Sport with its integrated headlight/DRL design), the teaser photo looks like it’ll stick more to the latter.
Coming from a 40-year history of best-selling pickup trucks (they’ve sold 4.7 million units globally), the 2019 Strada is designed around the theme, “Engineered Beyond Tough.” As such, Mitsubishi is promising that it’ll offer enhanced performance, functionality, durability, safety, and refinement.
