Ford is Building 350 More Ford GT Supercars
With over 6,500 applicants racing up to own one of 1,000 Ford GTs, it was inevitable that not everyone would get one. To rectify that, Ford just announced that they’re increasing production of its famed supercar to 1,350 vehicles.
“The response to our Ford GT has been unprecedented, with initial demand outstripping supply by more than six-to-one,” said Hermann Salenbauch, Ford Performance director. “By extending the Ford GT production run for a limited period, we’re able to maintain the exclusivity of the ultra-desirable supercar while offering the ownership experience to a greater number of customers.”
Customer delivery is expected between 2020 to 2022 for the additional 350 cars.
Currently, Ford has re-opened the application window to customers from select global markets. Unfortunately, we checked the website and found out that the Philippines is not eligible. Bummer. As it stands, the only performance Ford vehicle you can buy in the country is the Mustang or the Ranger Raptor.
