Mazda Philippines Shows Long-Term Commitment with New Warehouse and Training Facility

Bermaz Auto Philippines, Inc. (BAP) has begun construction of a P 250 million-peso warehouse and training facility situated in Cabuyao, Laguna.

“The construction of our very own Mazda Warehouse and Training Facility is a milestone for the brand and BAP,” says Steven Tan, president and CEO of Bermaz Auto Philippines, the exclusive distributor of Mazda vehicles and parts in the country.

Mr. Tan says that the new corporate building and warehouse demonstrates BAP’s resolve to strengthen Mazda’s long-term business here in the Philippines. “We’ll never become a volume player here in the Philippines,” he says. “But our goal remains to provide our customers with the best possible products and services. This facility aims to deliver on that promise through the proper preservation of our products and the constant updating of the knowledge of our sales and aftersales personnel.”

Located within a 2.5-hectare property along Pulo Road in Cabuyao, Laguna, the new Mazda Philippines Warehouse and Technical Training Facility will have a vehicle storage compound that will be able to secure up to 1,000 cars, 800 of which will be covered and shielded from the elements. To complement this, a brand-new Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) and repair facility for on-site vehicles shall also be built within the property.

In addition, a new 2,000-square meter administration building and state-of–the-art Technical Training Center will also be established within the compound to serve as the head office for BAP. It will house a 100-person training auditorium and even a hostel for trainees, especially for those who will come from provincial Mazda dealerships.

Lining with up Mazda’s global Sustainable Zoom Zoom 2030 plan, BAP says that the new establishment will be 100-percent “green” incorporating solar power technology to provide electricity to warehouse and office operations. Tan says the facility will not be dependent on the existing power grid for its electricity requirements. Rainwater collection equipment will also be used to recycle water for use in vehicle cleaning and office maintenance.

The project set earmarked for completion by November 2019.
