Philippine Market Fiesta, EcoSport Not Affected by European Engine Problems
Ford Philippines is assuring its customers that vehicles fitted with the 1.0-liter EcoBoost locally are not, in anyway, affected by the engine overheating issue affecting United Kingdom units.
Already a subject of a BBC investigative report, Ford had to replace a nylon coolant pipe between the engine and coolant tank in the 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine which had the potential to fail at high temperatures. These engines, produced between October 2011 and October 2013 affects 44,682 vehicles there, and if left unchecked can cause the car to throw a check engine light and overheat.
We reached out to Ford Philippines to ask if the Fiesta Sport and Fiesta Titanium as well as the recently launched EcoSport Titanium are covered by this problem given they all share the 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine.
“Asia Pacific, including the Philippines, are not affected by this service action related to the 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine,” they said in a statement.
