Tata Motors Philippines Goes All Euro 4


Tata Motors Philippines displayed its Euro 4 range of commercial vehicles at the 7th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS). Headlining its first year of participation at the biennial show, Tata showcased the Tata Super Ace Mint for the small commercial vehicle segment category, the Tata SFC 407 and Tata Ultra in the light commercial vehicles category.

According to Mr. Rudrarup Maitra, Head, International Business, Commercial Vehicles, Tata Motors - “Tata Motors is committed to partnering in the enhancement of the Euro norms of the Philippines market. PIMS 2018 is a great platform for us to showcase our new technologies. With the showcase of our new Euro IV range of highly versatile products such as Tata Super Ace Mint, Tata SFC 407 and Tata Ultra 814 which can be customized for various business applications, we assure our stakeholders that we are well placed to catch up with trends in the market and cater to the evolving needs of the Filipino customers.”

The Tata Super Ace Mint is a versatile small truck with a 1-ton payload. It’s powered by a Euro 4 compliant 1.4-liter DiCoR turbo diesel engine making 71 horsepower at 4,000 rpm and 140 Nm of torque from 1,800 to 3,000 rpm.

Its versatility was showcased through three different application bodies on display:
  • The Super Ace Mint Passenger Van which is an ideal transport solution for both passengers and cargo. The passenger van application will serve dual purpose of business as well as family use for Filipino customers. 
  • The Super Ace Mint Aluminum Van is a perfect partner for last mile distribution for industries such as FMCG, Confectionary, E-commerce and food & beverages. 
  • The Super Ace Mint Class 1 Modern Jeepney is a niche passenger application, with a seating capacity of 14 passengers. This application has been designed to meet the requirements of Class 1 category of PUJ Modernization Program. The durable driveline of Tata Super Ace is suitable for carrying up to 18-20 passengers.
Also on display is the Tata SFC 407, a tested workhorse with Gross Vehicle Weight of 4,450 kilograms. Powered by Euro 4 compliant 3.0-liter DiCoR turbo diesel engine, it makes 85 horsepower at 2,800 rpm. It’s suitable for various business applications with multiple body types such as: passenger van, drop side load, aluminum van, and refrigerator van.

Tata Motors also introduced the Tata Ultra 814 light truck to the Philippine market. The Ultra 814 also comes with a 3.0-liter Euro 4 DiCoR diesel engine but thanks to a turbocharger, the output is raised to 140 horsepower at 3,000 rpm and 360 Nm of torque from 1,700 to 2,300 rpm. In its Business Utility Vehicle guise, it’s a 6-wheel truck with a Gross Vehicle Weight of 8,750 kilograms. Available in two wheelbase options, it can be customized with special body applications such as dump truck, wing van, refrigerated van, boom crane, and self-loader. The Tata Ultra also has tubeless tires, ECR 29 crash test-compliant cabin, anti-lock brakes, and air conditioning.
