Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation shows support for Clean Air Asia (CAA), the City Government of Marikina, and the Department of Natural Resources (DENR) in their advocacy for better air quality and healthier living.
MMPC, through its efforts and donation of Mitsubishi iMiEV, a pure electric vehicle, to DENR, has witnessed the turnover of the unit to CAA’s Integrated Programme for Better Air Quality in Asia (IBAQ Programme) in partnership with the City Government of Marikina.
The ceremonial turnover happened at Marikina City Hall and was attended by Hon. Serafin Y. Bernardino, City Councilor of Marikina; Ms. Gloria Buenaventura, City Environmental Officer; Engr. Jundy Del Socorro of DENR Air Quality Management Section; Mr. Alan Silayan, Program Director of CAA, Mr. Aloysius Santos; VP for Business Development of First Gen Corporation; and Mr. Renato S. Lampano, Vice President for Corporate Public Relations of MMPC.
The Mitsubishi iMiEV will be instrumental in the conduct of ambient air quality monitoring and development of strategic emission reduction measures. The electric vehicle (EV) will be equipped with a mobile air-sensing device and will go through a pre-defined route within the City of Marikina.
In his speech, City Councilor Hon. Serafin Y. Bernardino mentioned that “This is yet another ‘Excellence’ project towards cleanliness and discipline which are both highly evident in the city”. He did express his sincere appreciation as well to all the organizations from both public and private sectors who stand in unity for this common advocacy towards cleaner air.
