Nissan Transforms the Navara into a Rescue Machine for South America

One of the pillars of Nissan Intelligent Mobility is Intelligent Integration. While the aim is to have cars communicate using a common infrastructure, in the here and now, it also points to how vehicles work and operate to help a customer with his daily routine. After showing off the Navara EnGuard Concept in Europe, Nissan is now giving a bit of a Brazilian twist to the same concept with the Frontier Sentinel.

Created by the Nissan Design Studio in Brazil, the Frontier Sentinel Concept is designed for rescue missions in the different types of terrain in Brazil. The pickup bed is made to accommodate a comprehensive tool drawer, a landing pad for drones, and, get this, not one but two Nissan Leaf batteries to give a supply of electric power to appliances.

With the Brazilian hyacinth macaw as its inspiration, the Frontier Sentinel Concept has been colored in a head-turning shade of Thunder-Blue. It also has an integrated snorkel that increases its water fording depth while heavy-duty 285/75 R 16 tires give it better all-terrain performance. Inside, has “Electric Yellow” highlights on the seat seams and center console.

The Frontier Sentinel also celebrates the start of South American production in Argentina, which serves as the manufacturing hub for 38 Latin American countries. It’s also made in Spain, China, Mexico, and Thailand.
