A Facebook post by South Snippets indicating that the Dona Soledad (Bicutan) and Dr. A. Santos (Sucat) exits of Skyway will be made exclusive to users of Autosweep RFID only has gone viral. We reached out to our sources within Skyway O&M Corporation, the operators of Skyway to find out if this is true.

Our sources say that the post is confirmed, and that the two said exits of the elevated portion of the Skyway—Bicutan and Sucat will be exclusive to RFID users only. However, our sources say that the exact timing of this new traffic scheme is still being finalized.

This is just the first phase of Skyway O&M Corporation’s plans to reduce traffic at the elevated expressway, says our sources. Once fully implemented, the entire elevated portion of the Skyway will become exclusive to RFID users only while those paying cash will have to use the “At-grade” portions when traveling to and from the Filinvest to Magallanes exits.

It’s also understood that Skyway is also studying to implement the same RFID only policy for NAIAX as well.
