Lexus Philippines Announces Recall of 2017-2018 Lexus LS 500
Lexus Philippines is announcing a recall of a select number of 2017 and 2018 LS 500 models due to a faulty start-stop system.
In a statement, 31 units of Lexus’s ultra-luxury sedan produced from December 19, 2017 to June 28, 2018 may experiencing stalling after the idle start-stop engages due to an improper programming of the engine control computer. In certain situations, the twin-turbo V6 may incorrectly calculate the required air intake leading to a stall when coming from a stationary position.
The ECU re-programming will be done at no cost to its customers. Lexus says they’ve already notified affected customers.
