Mazda Philippines to Recall Selected 2015 BT-50 Pickup Trucks
While Ford Philippines has opted to contact its owners quietly about a recall concerning defective door latches, Mazda Philippines is announcing that the Ranger’s mechanical twin—the BT-50 is affected by the same problem.
A batch of BT-50 pickup trucks produced from March 2 to May 20, 2015 may have an issue with the pawl spring tab of the door latch. In the most extreme case, this could prevent the proper latching of the door and could result in the occupant falling out of the vehicle.
Mazda says that a special service campaign will commence as soon as parts from Mazda Motor Corporation arrives. This will be done at no cost to the customer.
