Jeep is Going Electrified for Future Models
Chrysler is readying its assembly plants in the US in order to produce new Jeep models, among them a three-row SUV, four plug-in hybrid vehicles, and two models to fill in “white space” segments in its line-up.
In the next few years, Jeep will be launching its new full-sized SUV (likely called the Wagoneer) and a three-row equivalent (likely called the Grand Wagoneer) as well as the next-generation Grand Cherokee, four plug-in hybrid models, and two new all-new models.
The announcement was made coinciding with the carmaker’s move to pump in a total of USD 4.5 billion (~ P 234 billion) in five of its existing Michigan, U.S.A. plants increasing their capacity to meet the growing demand for Jeep and RAM products.
Foreseeing the continued preference towards SUVs and trucks, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles or FCA, has discontinued its compact cars and instead re-tooled its plants to produce more of its Jeep Wrangler, RAM 1500, and Jeep Gladiator.
