Toyota Philippines Launches Boldest RAV4 Yet (w/ 17 Photos, Complete Specs)

Toyota Motor Philippines launches the all-new 2019 RAV4—the boldest iteration of Toyota’s iconic compact crossover. Since its introduction onto the global stage, the RAV4 has captured an audience seeking sporty design and performance wrapped in a practical SUV body. The new one is no different and sets to deliver what Toyota says is “the best driving experience.”

Built on the Toyota New Global Architecture or TNGA platform, the fifth-generation RAV4 has a stiffer shell and a lower center of gravity giving it surefooted driving be it in the city or the countryside. In order to better communicate this, the RAV4 emphasizes visibility above all else and is evidenced by the lower belt line, repositioned door mirrors, and the thinner, low-set instrument cluster.

Delivering the driving goods, the RAV4 is powered by Toyota’s next-generation 2.5-liter Dynamic Force engine. The A25A-FKS has Dual VVT-i with VVT-iE—Toyota’s latest variable timing intelligent system that uses an electric actuator. The 203 horsepower, 243 Nm of torque engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic with Direct Shift technology. This new multi-plate lock-up clutch provides a smoother response, better performance, and improved fuel economy.

The RAV4’s “cross-octagon” styling communicates strong styling, befitting its newfound performance. It has features such as parabolic LED headlights, LED taillights, and a choice of 17- or 18-inch alloy wheels depending on the variant.

Inside, the 2019 model has better user-friendly features and technology such as a 7-inch multi-information display, an 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat with memory, leather seats, a panoramic moon roof, Qi wireless charger, and an automatic dimming rear view mirror.

Plus, opting to be the leader in safety, Toyota has equipped the all-new RAV4 with 7 airbags, ABS with EBD, stability control, front and rear proximity sensors, and a back-up camera.

The all-new 2019 RAV4 is available in 6 standard colors: White Pearl, Red Mica Metallic, Silver Metallic, Gray Metallic, Urban Khaki, and Cyan Metallic. Three other colors are available on a special indent basis (3-month waiting): Super White, Attitude Black, and Dark Blue Mica. There are 3 variants starting with the LE (P 1,638,000), XLE (P 1,870,000), and the LTD (P 2,188,000).

The all-new 2019 RAV4 is on display at the BGC Amphitheater within Bonifacio High Street from today until Sunday, February 10. Test drives are available as well.

    1. Hopefully they could replace it with a original oem headunit from the original plant. Toyota you need to stop offering AVT headunita on all of your vehicles.

  5. Too much features, no all wheel drive. Toyota let the CR-V (CX-5 can be included) win here.

  6. Konti sa features pero at least sa engine bumawi. 200 hp sa 1.6m Saan ka makakuha nun. So pili na lang priority performance or features.

  8. Its silly all these people complaining about the lack of AWD. Does it snow in the Philippines? If there is a deluge, can you still drive fast or get stuck in extremely slow traffic? In the provinces, do you think you can off road with a vehicle with low ground clearance? Seriously, AWD is just a marketing gimmick even though its a useless feature in this country. Its nothing more than an extra maintenance item to enrich the parts and service departments of the CASA.

    1. "While some would counter that such technology is frivolous in a country that doesn’t experience snow and ice, Mazda counters that i-ACTIV AWD is a safety system and is meant to add an extra layer of driver control on changeable road conditions. Measuring the co-efficient of friction (mu), dry asphalt would be between 0.7 to 0.9 (the highest being 1), wet asphalt between 0.5 to 0.7, and snow between 0.1 to 0.2. Interestingly, standing water on asphalt is 0.3-0.4—just a notch higher than driving on snow. And with 136 days out of 365 recorded as rainy in Manila, it does become an important safety feature."

    2. It's just like airbags and seat belts you don't need it unless you get into an accident. Why have a hi-tech phone when 3310 will suit you just fine or you expect 3310 tech on a 25k phone? At almost 2.2m you kinda expect AWD to be included. At least include LSD to fully utilize the 203 hp in the TOTL model.

  9. Does the 2019 Rav 4 LTD has the all around camera like the one in the US?
