Ferrari is replacing its mid-engined V8 sportscar, the 488 GTB with this: the F8 Tributo. Debuting at the Geneva Motor Show, the Italian sportscar maker says this will be “one of the fastest, most thrilling, and communicative supercars ever.”

Compared to the 488 GTB, the F8 Tributo now makes 50 more horsepower, bumping its total output to an impressive 720 horsepower and 770 Nm of torque. Along with the additional power, it is also 40 kilograms lighter and benefits from a 10 percent improvement in aerodynamic efficiency. All-in-all, it means this 1,330-kilogram supercar rockets from 0-100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds and 0-200 km/h in just 7.8 seconds.


Designed by the Ferrari Styling Centre, the new car is made to bridge a new design language that emphasizes the Prancing Horse’s high-performance nature and extreme aerodynamic efficiency. As such, it’s employed state-of-the-art aerodynamic solutions derived from the 488 Pista including the rearward-angled front radiators and the dynamic engine air intakes positioned either side of the spoiler instead of on the rear flanks.

Upfront, the F8 Tributo is characterized by its S-Duct—which alone contributes to a 15 percent increase in downforce. The new, more compact LED headlights also allow new brake cooling intakes as well. At the back, a new Lexan rear screen showcases the engine compartment and brings a new twist to the most distinctive design element from Ferrari’s most famous V8, the F40. This car also marks a return to the classic twin light cluster and body-colored taillights—signatures of the early 8-cylinder Ferrari berlinettas.



Inside, the F8 Tributo retains the classic, driver-oriented cockpit. Along with the smaller diameter steering wheel, it has a new-generation interface complete with round air vents and a 7-inch passenger touchscreen display.
