Pop quiz: if you need to ferry 19 people in comfort, but don’t exactly want to drive a minibus what can you get? The 2019 Foton Traveller XL, is what. Announced late last year, but finally shown to the public and priced just recently, the Traveller XL is probably the biggest MPV you can buy today.

With a body measuring at a gargantuan 5,990 millimeters in length, 2,320 millimeters in height, and 1,920 millimeters in width, the Traveller XL has individual seating for 19 people (3+3+3+3+3+4). With a 3,720-millimeter wheelbase, there’s also commendable interior space for everyone aboard, too.


Powering the 2019 Traveller XL is a Euro 4 compliant 2.8-liter Cummins ISF engine mated to a 5-speed manual. In this particular configuration, it makes 148 horsepower and 325 Nm of torque—commendable numbers given it has to haul up to 4,035 kilograms fully loaded (gross vehicle weight). It also offers sure-footed and safe handling thanks to 215/75 R 16 wheels at each corner along with anti-lock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution.

The Traveller XL is now available at all authorized Foton dealerships nationwide with a suggested retail price of P 1,645,000.
