The Americans may not be getting the Ranger Raptor (at least for this generation), but Ford Performance is now offering after-purchase lift kits for the Ranger with the help of, who else but, Fox shocks.
Since majority of Ranger owners in the U.S. get them with four-wheel drive, Ford Performance understands that there’s a demand for increased ground clearance and off-road performance.
Ford Performance worked with Fox to develop unique interval valving for the shocks to deliver confident performance and predictable handling both off-road and on the pavement.
With the kits installed, the Ranger sees improvements to front ground clearance, approach and breakover angles. Based on internal Ford engineering simulations, it gets additional 50.8 millimeters (2 inches) of ground clearance, 21 percent increases in approach and a 10 percent increase in breakover angles.
The kit which costs USD 1,495 (~ P 77,785) before installation, includes:
- New aluminum Fox shock bodies that are designed to provide ample cooling capacity over rough terrain
- New front coilover spring rates
- New upper front mounts with polyurethane bushings to help isolation and vibration
Off-road enthusiasts can order Ford Performance Parts leveling kits for the Ranger, in the U.S., by the end of the year. No word if this will be offered elsewhere.
When can we have this kit in the Philippines?
ReplyDeleteYou could, you know, buy a Raptor.
DeleteBut Wildtrak 2.0L Biturbo has mouthful features than Raptor. So better buy WT first then upgrade to Fox Shocks. :)
