Well, will you look at that. After nearly a decade of being the sub-compact crossover’s funky offering, Nissan has introduced the all-new second-generation Juke. Like its predecessor, it continues the strikingly different looks but fuses it with much needed interior room and higher levels of performance and tech.

The same split-circular headlamp design of the previous Juke has been retained in the 2020 edition, but it gets LED lighting tech and some interesting looking Y-shaped signature DRLs. The coupe-like design continues with its athletic stance, available 19-inch alloy wheels, and “floating roof” design.



Dimensionally, it’s bigger than the previous model: 4,210 mm in length, 1,595 mm in height, and 1,800 mm in width—but it’s lighter by 23 kilograms thanks to copious amounts of high-strength steel. The new platform is also more rigid offering better stability and cornering as well as improved control and refinement.

The enlarged dimensions do well to increase room, particularly at the back where the rear knee room has grown by 58 mm and headroom by 11 mm. Luggage space is also larger at 422 liters. The interior also features soft-touch materials and a sporty-looking monoform front seats finished in either leather or grippy Alcantara.



Coupled with the new platform, the all-new Juke gets a 1.0-liter 3-cylinder turbocharged engine with 117 horsepower. This is mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual clutch with paddle shifters. It also manages to keep the driving mode selector too.

As with other new Nissan vehicles, the Juke also gets some Nissan Intelligent Mobility feature. In particular, it gains ProPilot technology which offers electronically assisted steering, acceleration and braking. Designed for highway use in single-lane traffic, ProPilot makes long commutes and heavy traffic easier.




Production will soon commence for the all-new Juke with deliveries in Europe starting in November.
