Toyota Starts Own Heritage Parts Program with Supra
After Mazda and Nissan got into the re-manufacture of parts for heritage cars, Toyota is now going to do the same, and the first one to benefit from Gazoo Racing’s Heritage Parts Project? The A70 and A80 Supra.
The project will have Toyota reproduce spare parts that were no longer available, and sell them as genuine parts. They will be made available not just in the Supra’s home market of Japan but also for overseas markets such as North America and Europe.
Details on the specific parts and sales period will be announced at a later date, but Toyota did mention that for the A70 Supra, they’ll have items such as propeller shafts, door handles, fuel sender gauge, weather strips, and emblems available; while for the A80 Supra, it’ll cover headlamps, door handles, and brake booster.
Toyota says that these heritage parts will be available for purchase from Toyota dealers the same way as normal genuine parts or through the Toyota Gazoo Racing website.
