The 2020 BMW X1 Gets Weaker Engine, But Becomes P800k Cheaper (w/ Brochure)
Together with the all-new 2020 1 Series, BMW Philippines has launched the refreshed X1 giving it aesthetic and feature updates, along with a significantly lower price tag.
The 2020 BMW X1 sDrive18d xLine has a refreshed exterior with a larger grille, new LED headlights with sharper light iconography, and a front bumper with larger intakes. At the back is a body-colored apron, and at all four corners, new 18-inch alloy wheels.
Creating drama even before the doors are opened, the 2020 X1 projects the “X1” image via the driver’s side mirror whenever it’s unlocked. Once inside, it has new contrast stitching on the instrument panel, black high-gloss trim with pearl chrome inserts, and standard Sensatec upholstery.
Features such as the 40/20/40 split-folding and sliding rear seat remain as do its power tailgate and smart keyless entry. The same goes for its infotainment—a centrally-mounted 6.5-inch screen controlled by the BMW iDrive controller. New for 2020 though is a pair of USB-C ports for the charging convenience of passengers.
Powering the 2020 X1 is a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo diesel engine making 150 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. This is mated to an 8-speed automatic with manual shift override. And as an sDrive model, the X1 now drops its all-wheel drive in favor of a simpler front-wheel drive setup thereby improving its fuel efficiency even further.
The less powerful engine and loss of all-wheel drive may be lamented by some buyers, but does have a tremendous effect on the 2020 BMW X1’s pricing—it sheds some P 800,000 to a remarkably affordable P 3.090-million. And this is inclusive of BMW Philippines’s 5-year / 200,000-kilometer warranty coverage—the longest in the premium segment.
The BMW X1 sDrive18d comes in two colors: Alpine White and Black, and will be available at all authorized BMW dealerships very soon.
And it comes with a bland interior that screams... "made in malaysia!!!!"
ReplyDeleteWhat an interior that pales in comparison to the GLA, Q3 and even the UX (though it'll have a better infotainment than the UX, no doubt). Dude the 1 series has a hell lot better interior.
