Mitsubishi Motors Philippines sent shockwaves when it revealed the pricing of the Montero Sport 4WD GT. Once known for its value-oriented positioning, the top-trim 7-seater mid-sized SUV now costs P 2,450,000—higher than any of its rivals, and even the likes of Mazda’s two 7-seater crossovers—the CX-8 and CX-9.
Of course, the question in everyone’s mind is: what’s with the huge price jump? Well, we asked MMPC directly on what additional stuff you get over the 2WD GT given its P 452,000 premium.
Sadly, don’t expect a gold-lined engine bay or forged wheels to come with your Montero Sport 4WD GT. In fact, the differences are rather subtle, but when you add it up, you’ll begin to understand why Mitsubishi’s charging the hefty premium. Let’s enumerate the changes versus the P 1.998-million 2WD GT:
Exterior:
- Headlamp washer
- Rear fog lamp
- Automatic headlights
- Rain-sensing wipers
- 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat
- Sunroof
- 8-speed AT with adaptive cruise control
- Super Select II 4WD
- Off-road mode
- Rear differential lock
- Hill Descent Control
- Forward Collision Mitigation (Ultrasonic Misacceleration Mitigation System)
- Blind Spot Warning with Rear Cross Traffic Alert
- 360-degree Camera

ReplyDeleteway back in 2015, all that features are already available in Ford Everest 4wd... only now for Montero then with that price, not worthit for that huge price difference for me!
