While the Lexus GS has been confirmed to join the parking lot in the sky after this generation, its compact sibling, the Lexus IS is continuing on. And this is our first official look.

Set to be unveiled next week, the 2021 Lexus IS wears a full-length taillight design, similar to the current Lexus UX. It will also be keeping its rear-wheel drive architecture.

The main speculation at this point is what’s powering the Lexus IS. The rumor mill is ripe with everything from carryover powertrains to a BMW-sourced inline-6 to a brand-new turbocharged 4-cylinder.

Whatever the case, the wait won’t be that long, but for now, enjoy looking at the teaser photo.
