Honda Hit by Possible Cyberattack

Honda can’t seem to catch a break. The Japanese automaker reports that a possible cyberattack is affecting its global computer network.

Honda did not offer details on what production plants have cut output or what other operations might be affected. The company is investigating the cause of the computer disruption, but believes it could be the result of unauthorized attempts to breach its systems.

For its part, Honda says that the matter is under investigation, and at this point believes that there is no effect on Japanese production or dealer activities. Its U.S. sales company though, American Honda has had to cut back some production.

Honda reiterates that the problem has no impact to the customer.
