The Ford Transit Trail is a Ranger Raptor-inspired Deliver Anywhere Van

Your eyes aren’t deceiving you: Ford just gave its Transit van a Ranger Raptor-like makeover, and yes, it’s not a one-off. It’ll be made available at showrooms, if you live in Europe.

The Transit Trail, as Ford officially calls it, adds all-wheel drive. Optimized for off-road traction, the system can send up to 50 percent of available engine power to the front wheels (as standard, the Transit is rear-wheel drive) based on available grip. It comes with selectable driving modes including an AWD Lock mode to split the torque 50/50.

Signaling that it’s ready to hit the delivery trail (get it?), the Transit Trail gets Ranger Raptor-like design cues such as the oversized “FORD” lettering on the matte black grille, additional black cladding around the bumpers and side panels, and unique 16-inch alloy wheels with all-terrain tires.

Powering the Transit Trail is the EcoBlue 2.0-liter bi-turbo diesel. It’s an engine related to the one found in the Ranger Raptor, but for its duty in the Transit Trail, the power outputs have been adjusted to one of three outputs: 130, 170, and 185 horsepower.
