Mazda has shown off the all-new 2021 BT-50, a pickup truck now designed and engineered in collaboration with Isuzu. Thanks to its new partner, the BT-50 aims to take the fight in the competitive pickup truck segment breaking off a long-time partnership with Ford.

The first full on redesign after nine years, the 2021 BT-50 brings Mazda’s signature Kodo design to the pickup category. It gets the familiar low-set headlights and wide wing grille giving it a sense of power, toughness, and utilitarian functionality. Two-tone 18-inch alloy wheels culminate in giving it a refined, yet aggressive appearance.



Under the hood, the BT-50 packs a 3.0-liter turbo diesel engine packing 190 horsepower, 450 Nm of torque engine. Payload is in excess of 1,000 kilograms while towing capacity is set at 3,500 kilograms.

Inside, the 2021 BT-50 continues to emphasizes its Human-Centric Design. The dashboard and door trims are finished in high-quality materials and look downright classy with its two-tone black and brown interior scheme. The seats use low-rebound MDI polyurethane material for the seats to reduce fatigue during long drives. A touchscreen-based infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, push button start/stop, and climate control are some of its key features.



The all-new BT-50 goes on sale in Australia first in the latter half of this year with other markets including ASEAN, Philippines included to follow.
