You Can Now Buy This Overlanding Kit for Your Subaru XV

Read up, Subaru XV owners. If you’re looking for an aftermarket inspiration for your new compact crossover, why don’t you consider building one to this: the Subaru XV Overland.

U.S.-based Subaru specialist Crawford Performance can now transform the mall-friendly second-generation Subaru XV into a beefed-up off-roader thanks to these aftermarket parts. Available for sale and actually factory-backed by Subaru, the kit adds an additional 2 inches (50.8 mm) of lift for a total of 271.8 mm, or more than 10 inches.

The lift kit is complemented by a host of other aftermarket parts such as front and rear tubular-type overriders, an aluminum skid plate, and sport lights cleanly mounted at the front of the side mirrors. Oh, and while the kit doesn’t come with wheels and tires, Crawford Performance did use 15-inch Method Rally Series MR502 VT-Spec 2 rims and BF Goodrich mud terrain tires to show off the “baja-inspired” transformation.

With all the aftermarket parts installed, Crawford says the Subaru XV Overland weighs 1,531 kilograms—a hefty 87-kilogram increase from the stock Subaru XV. So thankfully, they’ve managed to tweak the 2.0-liter FB20 engine as well. With an air-oil separator, intake spacers, and an upgraded exhaust, power is up to 167 horsepower from the stock’s 152 horsepower. Power is still delivered via Subaru’s Lineartronic CVT driving all four wheels.

As for the cost, the lift kit alone set you back USD 549.95 (P 27,500~), but opting for all the parts will raise up the price to about USD 4,000 (P 200,000~) without installation. As with most U.S. aftermarket parts, these can be done DIY, but if you’re not to comfy with that, Crawford Performance will sell you a fully-assembled version for about USD 35,000 (P 1.75-million~).
