1,000-Horsepower GMC Hummer Supertruck Teased
After deciding to delay its launch due to the on-going pandemic, GM’s revived Hummer brand will debut their first-ever EV pickup truck for a Fall 2020 (September to December) debut.
Touted as the “world’s first supertruck,” the GMC Hummer EV will pack a zero emissions all-electric drivetrain with 1,000 horsepower and 15,591 Nm of torque. The carmaker says it will hit the 100 km/h mark in about 3 seconds. It will also use a proprietary battery technology called Ultium Battery which is unique in that its cells can be stacked both vertically and horizontally optimizing its storage and layout.
In its latest tease, the Hummer EV is revealed to have several driving modes include Adrenaline Mode and Crab Mode. It will also have superfast charging capability, GM’s next-generation active cruise control called Super Cruise, modular body panels, and ultra-vision cameras.
All eyes will be on the Hummer EV in a few months time as it bids to defeat the Tesla Cybertruck.
