LTFRB Urges Private Companies to Use Grounded PUVs During MECQ

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board or LTFRB is urging private companies to use public utility vehicles (PUVs) grounded during the MECQ as company shuttles.

The LTFRB says private companies should hire or lease PUVs such as buses, UV express, modern or traditional jeepneys to serve as employee shuttles during the 14-day period.

Moreover, the agency says they are waiving the requirement to secure a Special Permit during the 14-day MECQ period. The LTFRB says that a certificate or authorization letter or letter of intent from the company stating its route/s will suffice.

Naturally, company shuttles must adhere to the proper social distancing and sanitary protocols set by the Department of Health.
