The Geely Coolray Remains the Best-Selling Sub-compact SUV

Even as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect the global automotive market, Geely Philippines has made yet another impressive feat in terms of sales in the month of July.

Based on CAMPI and AVID July sales data, the Geely Coolray remains a top-seller among the 5-seater sub-compact crossovers in July with 263 units sold, beating its own highest sales record in June. The Geely Coolray first earned the top-selling record for its segment in June after it has sold 154 units.

Together with the Azkarra, Geely sold 292 units in July.

Meanwhile, almost a year into Geely’s entry to the Philippine automotive market, Geely Philippines has already surpassed its 1,000th Coolray releases mark in July. Last month also saw Geely making the top 9 ranking in passenger vehicle sales with total of 292 sales for a 1.3 percent market share.

Sojitz G Auto Philippines (SGAP) President & CEO Mikihisa Takayama said, “this shows that more Filipinos are beginning to trust the Geely brand and what it could offer. The numbers speak for itself. As the Coolray sets good vehicle quality and standards, we are confident that the good market reception that we’re getting for Coolray will also transcend to the other models like the Azkarra and the others that will be introduced after it.”

“Dominating the sub-compact SUV crossover market with a good number of sales amid the crisis is a significant step in gaining more people’s trust in the Geely brand”, Takayama added.

  1. Then along came the new ford territory. A bigger offering for almost the same money. More metal. More oomph. This would somehow put a dent in coolrays strong takeoff.
But i would go for DCTs over CVTs anytime of the day..

  2. This could've been any Jap or Korean brand's sales. The cheap but fully loaded Chinese cars are starting to affect established brands here.

    1. 120k discount is for frontliners only. Not for everyone.
      Get your facts straight.

  5. Planning to buy a Geely CoolRay but I changed my mind. The arrival of Ford Territory wins my heart. It's the most fully Loaded Compact SUV in the market and most comfortable than the Corolla Cross.

  6. Ford brand nah, it's synonymous with orphaned cars. Ford Lynx, Focus, Escape... The Territory? Cvt? Hmm, I smell a brittle pancake

  9. Why the hell are you clowns talking about Ford? Hindi ba Geely to na article?

Sige let's play your game. FYI, mas bulok ang Toyota, Honda at iba pang hapon na sasakyan. Toyota Altis namin nag seize ang engine dahil sa ENGINE SLUDGE!!! EVERY 6 to 8 MONTHS YAN NA CHANGE OIL HA! Honda city namin nasira at pinalitan ng CVT under warranty!!! Lancer gls namin bulok ang suspension ambilis masira tapos nag ooverheat. Accord 2.4 ng tito ko basura, nirebuild ang transmission 9 years pa lang tapos kumakain na ng krudo! Ano ba yan!

Samantala yung 12 year old FORD EVEREST with manual transmission namin, ang ganda pa ng takbo. Shock absorber at tie rods lang pinalitan. FORD FOCUS ghia ng kaibigan ko walang issue kahit luma na. Palit lang ng wear and tear parts, engine support at fluids sa PMS. Ano?! Found On Road Dead pa more!!!
