Less than a year since its global introduction, the refreshed 2021 Jaguar F-Type has finally landed in Manila. Touted as Jaguar design DNA in its purest form, the two-seater sportscar adds a more assertive design to its balance of performance and luxury.
The F-Type’s award-winning design has evolved with a focus on even greater purity. Super-slim pixel LED headlights with subtly updated signature ‘Calligraphy’ J daytime running lights, and sweeping direction indicators, blend perfectly into the ‘liquid metal’ surfacing of the new clamshell bonnet. The new front bumper and subtly enlarged grille deliver even more visual impact and presence. At the back, it gets new slender taillights with an unmistakable chicane signature and a monogram pattern detailing.
The Philippines will offer two models of the F-Type. The F-Type 2.0L offers 300 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque thanks to its 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. It reaches 100 km/h in just 5.7 seconds, while maximum speed is at 250 km/h. Meanwhile, available on an indent order basis, the F-Type R has a 575 horsepower. This supercharged V8 benefits from a new Quiet Start function.
Both engines are matched to 8-speed automatic gearboxes with full manual control using either the SportShift gear selector or the steering wheel-mounted paddles. The F-Type R though receives a unique tuning.
Inside, the driver-focused F-Type has a reconfigurable high-definition 12.3-inch Interactive Driver Display, 10-inch Touch Pro infotainment with a 380-watt Meridian sound system, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The 2021 Jaguar F-Type 2.0L starts at P 6.190 million (same price as the outgoing model).
The predecessor to the F-Type, legendary E-Type is also available for viewing from September 18 to 24 at the All British Cars showroom in Greenhills, and September 25 to 30 at the BGC Boutique Showroom at 5th Avenue corner 24th Street.
