Mitsubishi Offers a Glimpse of Their New Design with the 2021 Eclipse Cross
With the global success of the Outlander PHEV, Mitsubishi Motors is now adding another plug-in hybrid vehicle in its portfolio; this time, it’s the Eclipse Cross.
Launched globally in 2017, the Eclipse Cross is the company’s compact crossover offering, fusing coupe-like styling with SUV capabilities. Now that a refresh looms near (the Japanese carmaker promises it’ll arrive before March 31, 2021), the Eclipse Cross now adds the option of a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) drivetrain.
The new engine aside, according to Mitsubishi, the 2021 Eclipse Cross will have a “radically changed front and rear design” that’ll make it more upscale and energic than ever before. The carmaker says the Eclipse Cross is also the first Mitsubishi to carry a new design language, inspired by the e-Evolution Concept.
And perhaps the most relevant piece of information for the Philippine market, Mitsubishi says that the refreshed Eclipse Cross’s availability will be expanded to more countries globally. Although they haven’t mentioned which countries will get the new compact crossover, the launch of the Outlander PHEV locally may signal an interest from Mitsubishi Motors Philippines to expand their line-up. Certainly, the Eclipse Cross could fit very well into their current product portfolio.
