Never Worry About Gas Bills with Mitsubishi PH's 2021 Outlander PHEV (w/ Specs)
After being previewed at several motor shows and events, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines has finally fulfilled its promise, and has officially launched the 2021 Outlander PHEV. This is nine months after its announcement at a dealer conference last January.
The world’s best-selling plug-in hybrid vehicle will be sold initially through Peak Motors Philippines (Manila Bay) which will also be the first dealership to install Vehicle to Home (V2H) showcase to promote the Outlander PHEV’s function to restore and supply electricity back to the grid.
Fast Autoworld Philippines Corporation, SFM Sales Corporation, Motor Plaza Incorporated, and Mindanao Integrated Commercial Enterprises Incorporated will start selling the Outlander PHEV by early 2021.
The Outlander PHEV combines the benefits of both an electric and gasoline-hybrid vehicle. It’s equipped with a twin-motor 4WD system that delivers power independently to the front and rear wheels. Moreover, it can generate immediate torque and instant all-wheel drive acceleration with zero emissions. The 2.4-liter motor generates 128 horsepower and 199 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm. This is supplemented by a 60-kW (81 horsepower) front and 70-kW (91 horsepower) rear motor for a combined output of 190 horsepower. The max torque is at 137 Nm for the front and 195 Nm for the rear. With a full charge, it can run 55 kilometers without sipping a drop of gas or 16.6 km/L in hybrid mode.
Matched to a Super All Wheel Control (S-AWC) integrated vehicle dynamics control system, Active Yaw Control (AYC), Active Stability Control (ASC), and Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), the Outlander PHEV is capable of adapting to various road conditions.
Key convenience features of the 2021 Outlander PHEV include full LED exterior lighting, 18-inch alloy wheels, leather seats with power adjustment for the driver, automatic dimming rear view mirror, a dual-zone climate control system, and an 8-inch Smartphone-Link Display Audio system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Uniquely, it also has a 1,500W inverter which can power home appliances for outdoor leisure or emergencies via two onboard outlets.
With its maximum 5-star safety rating at the New Car Assessment Program (NCAP), the Outlander PHEV comes with advanced safety and driver assist features such as adaptive cruise control, forward collision mitigation, blind spot warning with rear cross traffic alert, automatic high beam, and ultrasonic misacceleration mitigation system.
The 2021 Outlander PHEV is now available starting today with a suggested retail price of P 2.998 million.
