Prestone PH Warns Against Fake Brake Fluid

With cemeteries, memorial parks, and columbarium ordered shut from October 29 to November 4, some may opt to start visiting their departed loved ones earlier or later than the usual Undas break; this even as the IATF is limiting non-essential travel.

In light of this, Prestone Philippines is not only reminding motorists early on to keep their cars in good working condition, but is also warning the public of possibly old or counterfeit fluids that is currently in the market.

The leading manufacturer of cutting-edge coolants and lubricants says that using fake fluids can permanently damage your car, particularly its cooling and brake system. It can also lead to crashes or accidents.

Many counterfeit products are sold in 900-ml packaging says Prestone Philippines. The best way to check would be to look closely at the details of the product, and for any wrong spelling. Moreover, make sure it carries the PS mark or ICC stickers issued by the Bureau of Product Standards of the Philippines.

Motorists should also stay safe from brake fluid sellers whose products come from unknown sources. It would be good to familiarize yourself with the product's original price to remain safe from products with suspicious prices and discounts.

Moreover, avoid using brake fluids which are over two years old even if they come in a sealed container. Brake fluid absorbs moisture (even through the packaging) which reduces its performance.

“The safety of the commuters and motorists on the road will always be the top priority for us in Prestone. We make sure to keep our products have high-quality to ensure a safe trip for the motorists,” says Paolo Lao, marketing director ng Prestone Philippines.
