Nissan has officially teased its refreshed 2021 Navara. Revealed through the Japanese carmaker’s social media accounts, they’ve also set a November 5 global reveal date.
Despite being covered in shadows, as most teasers are, the 2021 Navara does look to pack a revised headlight design. The DRL/park light becomes a two-piece unit, while the LED headlights take on a more “alien eye” approach with four projectors per side.
Based on previous design leaks, the 2021 Navara will gain a more athletic looking front-end with a larger, more upright grille similar to the North American Titan. It will also have a revised tailgate, rear lamps, and alloy wheel designs.
Not much is known about the Navara’s powertrain, but it’s been suggested that Nissan will adopt a twin-turbo 2.3-liter diesel engine for their pickup truck. If proven true, it replaces the long-serving 2.5-liter singe turbo unit. This new engine makes 190 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque.
In addition, Nissan is expected to bump up the Navara’s safety technology in order to help keep it competitive in the ASEAN NCAP /ANCAP. There are reports that it’ll gain safety features first introduced in the Terra such as a blind spot monitoring system.
Are you excited for the 2021 Navara?
