This is Your First Official Look at the All-New 2021 Isuzu mu-X

Updated: Here is the all-new 2021 mu-X (10/28).

The Philippines has yet to experience the latest D-Max pickup truck, and now Isuzu has officially teased its all-new SUV derivative: the 2021 mu-X. Set for a global unveil on October 28, the all-new Isuzu mu-X will set the house on fire; at least based on the official teaser photos that Isuzu released.

A few weeks back, patent drawings of Isuzu’s newest 7-seater SUV made their way around the internet, and it’s very clear it doesn’t do justice to the entirety of the vehicle. It looks like Isuzu will offer a bigger differentiation between the D-Max and mu-X with the latter getting slimmer LED headlights and a shapelier grille.

In profile, the mu-X appears to depart dramatically from the current model with the greenhouse now looking sleeker thanks to a continuous B- and C-pillar. Towards the back, it looks to keep its two-piece taillights (lit by LEDs based on the teaser) with a large “ISUZU” emblem at the center.

While Isuzu hasn’t revealed any mechanical details on its all-new mu-X, it’s safe to assume it’ll follow the lead set by the D-Max. With that, expect the 4JJ3-TCX engine making 190 horsepower/450 Nm of torque to reside under the hood. Lower-end models will use the second-generation RZ4E with 150 horsepower/350 Nm of torque.

It will also benefit from the D-Max’s new platform and suspension which is lighter and more rigid than ever. Expect also the usual myriad of tech and safety upgrades including a large infotainment system, dual climate control, front and rear parking sensors, and all sorts of driver assist features.
