A few days ago, exclusive Philippine distributor Coventry Motors Corporation announced that both the three-door and five-door Defender SUVs are coming early Q1 2021. And while they’ve revealed the general specs, we now know what variants they’re bringing in, and how much they cost.
Before getting there, it’s worth mentioning that both the Defender 90 and 110 carrying the D240 badge are powered by a twin-turbo 2.0-liter diesel engine making 240 horsepower and 430 Nm of torque. The sole transmission is an 8-speed automatic (check here for the full specs).
Underpinning the 2020 Defender is Land Rover’s new D7x architecture. The aluminum monocoque construction is the stiffest body structure the brand has ever done—three times stiffer than traditional body-on-frame designs. It also has permanent all-wheel drive with a two-speed transfer box and an open-diff rear axle as standard. An Electronic Active Differential is an available option.
Similar to the five-door Defender 110, the three-door Defender 90 will come with “Packs,” a set of accessories making it easier to personalize:
- Urban Pack includes bright metal pedals, a bright rear scuff plate, front undershield, and spare wheel cover
- Country Pack includes wheel arch protection, bright rear scuff plate, front and rear classic mud flaps, portable rinse system, full height loadspace partition, spare wheel cover
- Adventure Pack includes: integrated air compressor, side-mounted gear carrier, front and rear mud flaps, bright rear scuff plate, portable rinse system, seat backpack, spare wheel cover
- Explorer Pack includes: wheel arch protection, side-mounted gear carrier, front and rear mud flaps, matte black bonnet decal, raised air intake, expedition roof rack, step ladder, spare wheel cover
