Mazda PH Lets You Build a Personalized MX-5 Sportscar

One of the hallmarks of a premium brand is being able to offer a degree of personalization not typically possible with a mass-market brand. In pursuit of their own vision of premium-ness, Mazda Philippines is now offering a personalization program for its MX-5 sportscar.

Starting this month, the 2021 MX-5 will be offered with a more intimate and proud ownership experience called, Build Your Personal MX-5. With this, MX-5 customers will be able to create a version of Mazda’s iconic two-seater sportscar that best represents their personality using the following parameters:
  • Transmission (MT or AT)
  • Exterior Color (Soul Red Crystal, Machine Gray, Polymetal Gray, Snowflake White Pearl, Artic White, Jet Black, and new for 2021, Deep Crystal Blue Mica)
  • Interior Trim (Red Nappa or Black Leather)
  • Soft Top (Black or Ruby Red) or Retractable Fastback
All in all, Mazda Philippines will be offering 78 possible combinations.

This announcement coincides with the availability of a premium-grade package for the 6-speed MT soft-top variant. This gives purists the chance to bask in luxurious leather seats, and enjoy a 9-speaker Bose sound system. The MX-5 Premium MT also comes standard with a front strut bar and Bilstein dampers.

Customers can initiate a customized pre-order with a reservation fee at any of the 19 Mazda dealerships nationwide. All Sales Consultants have been trained to handle client requests and orders through this program.

Personalized orders are expected to take an average lead time of between 4-6 months between order to delivery depending on production allocation capacity, and shipping/logistics timing.

“Mazda is known for its beautifully designed, superior quality and meticulously engineered cars,” shares Steven Tan, president and CEO of Mazda Philippines. “The distinctive and dynamic nature of Mazda Design has influenced us to be more creative on how we present our cars to our customers. That is why we are introducing the Build Your Personal MX-5 Program.”

Tan adds, “By giving them the opportunity to personally design and customize their very own MX-5 with our interactive online and showroom ordering guide, our clients will surely feel an even deeper and longer-lasting bond with their cars. This is a privilege previously found only in luxury sports car brands. And now, we make it available to Mazda clients who wish to create an even more personal MX-5 to suit their personality.”

All 2021 Mazda MX-5 variants are powered by a 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G engine that produces 184 horsepower and 205 Nm of torque.

As with all Mazda vehicles sold in the country, the Mazda MX-5 comes with a 5-Year Free Service Plan. It covers all expenses of periodic maintenance at either six-month or 10,000-kilometer intervals, for up to five years or 100,000-kilometers, whichever comes first. This gives Mazda owners’ security and peace of mind as they begin their Mazda premium ownership experience.
