JAC, distributed exclusively in the Philippines by Triesenburg Auto Corporation (TAC), is adding a second pickup truck to its portfolio with the launch of its T8 pickup truck.
While the full specs are set to be revealed during its official launch this Sunday, December 13, 2020 (click here), TAC says the T8 will have the specs “that higher-end pickup trucks have, but with an affordable price tag of a base model variant.” How affordable? Sources within JAC say the top-trim variant will be priced below one million pesos.
Compared to its platform-mate, the T6, the T8 is bigger, clearly showing off its orientation towards everyday usability and comfort. Key features are said to include HID headlights, 18-inch wheels, leather seats, and even an 8-inch infotainment system.
There’s no news as to the T8’s powertrain, but for the Chinese market, it’s powered by a 2.0-liter turbo diesel engine making 136 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque. The only available transmission though is a 6-speed manual driving either the rear or four wheels.
JAC will reveal everything via the T8’s virtual launch on Facebook through its official page at 6 PM.
