French sportscar brand Alpine and the U.K.’s Lotus will jointly develop a new zero emissions sportscar. This was revealed as the two brands sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU).
Under the MOU, Alpine, which is part of Renault and Lotus will conduct a “comprehensive feasibility study for the joint engineering, design, and development of an EV sportscar.” They also plan to leverage the resources, expertise, and facilities of both their brands.
Aside from the development of an EV sportscar, the two will also explore the development of a joint services that can offer their engineering expertise. In addition, they will also study Alpine’s motorsports platform, particularly in Formula One, Formula E, and endurance racing.
