Chery Auto once again ranked as the most exported Chinese brand, the 18th straight year they were able to achieve the feat. This comes as the automaker achieved a full-year 2020 sales of around 730,000 units. The biggest seller? The three-row Tiggo 8 which sold over 100,000 units last year alone.
The ups and downs of the global epidemic outbreak in 2020, and major changes unseen in a century have posed acid tests to the auto industry. While fighting the epidemic, Chery has raced against time and achieved sales breakthroughs.
Chery has maintained month-on-month growth for 10 months in a row since March, achieved record monthly sales of 88,000 units, 102,000 units and 116,000 units since October, and registered average year-on-year growth of 28 percent in the fourth quarter.
As of December, Chery had three models with monthly sales of over 10,000 units—the Tiggo 8, new Tiggo 5x, and the Tiggo 7 Pro. In particular, the Tiggo 8 proved very popular, selling over 20,000 units for two consecutive months.
Moreover, Chery has overcome the global spread of the pandemic in its overseas operations, achieving year-on-year export growth of 18.7 percent. They have also entered into a new development plan that’s globally forward.
