Toyota Motor Philippines has officially unveiled the refreshed 2021 Innova, after an apparent leak. Their dependable three-row MPV features enhanced styling and better safety than ever.
“The introduction of the new Innova could not have been timelier as the current situation has allowed us to appreciate moments shared with our families and loved ones,” said TMP First Vice President for Marketing Sherwin Chualim. “As we slowly go back to the roads to rediscover the happiness of travelling together, it is important to have a car that can keep us safe, while providing power, comfort, luxury, and style. The new Innova has all that and more.”
Like its counterpart in Indonesia, the 2021 Innova gets a more eye-catching front-end with a larger grille and bumper, accented by re-designed turn signal lights. The top-of-the-line V grade gets LED headlights, front fog lights, as well as daytime running lights as standard. At the back, the Innova is more or less unchanged with only the V and G grades getting a black tailgate garnish that connects the taillights. All variants ride on re-designed wheels with the E and G getting 16s, and the V getting 17s.
In terms of power, Toyota has dropped the 2.0-liter gasoline engine in favor of an all-diesel line-up for the Innova in 2021. The 2.8-liter 1GD-FTV engine gets 174 horsepower and 360 Nm of torque when paired with the 6-speed automatic, and 170 horsepower and 343 Nm of torque when paired with the 5-speed manual.
Inside, the 2021 Innova gets a new infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (from E grade upwards), while the V variant continues to get a smart entry system with push-button start/stop.
The V and G grades get a new two-tone noble brown/black interior combination, with both variants retaining its foldable seat back table with cup holder. The V variant also retains its 2+2+3 seating thanks to its second-row captain’s seats.
For safety, all models come fitted with SRS airbags (7 for the V variant), 3-point ELR seatbelts for all occupants, ABS with EBD, and vehicle stability control with hill start assist. The V and G variants, meanwhile, also add a standard rear camera to their front and rear sensors.
With over 240,000 Innovas sold, the 2021 model is still manufactured at Toyota’s Santa Rosa Laguna assembly plant. It comes in a range of colors (depending on variant): Super White II, White Pearl Crystal Shine, Silver Metallic 1, Black 1, Blackish Red Mica, Alumina Jade Metallic, Red Mica Metallic.

Most cars right now offers a lot more than an average driver needs. In fact, its too plentiful that most of it is just eyecandy stuff.
ReplyDeleteSoon we need more electrified cars. What do you think?
DeleteNope. I think electrified cars are still in its infancy. Hybrid is more acceptable for now. Maybe 15-20 years more before we see electrified cars accepted as a mainstream vehicle.
DeleteI Hope Toyota Philippines upgrades the Head Unit of Vios XE, XLE, E, and G by Removing the Disc Headunit and Adding Apple Carplay and Android Auto Like in Innova if the Vios GR-S officially Launches in the Philippines.
ReplyDeleteStill ugly IMO.
ReplyDeleteSana may 2.4liter engine displacement sa line-up for more options
ReplyDeleteIt's really troubling when Toyota sticks to the ugliest part of the car design. What's with the fascination with the vampire fangs at the back? It's so tacky that the designers couldn't think of anything better.
