Audi PH to Bring in e-tron GT Models

Audi prepares to start a new era of mobility in the Philippines, focusing on sustainability as the new luxury, with the scheduled introduction of the fully electric Audi RS e-tron GT quattro and e-tron GT quattro in the second half of the year. The two flagship electric models debuted on the world stage only in February.

The launch of the new Audi RS e-tron GT quattro and e-tron GT quattro in the country reflects Audi’s transformation into an electric mobility company. By 2025, the company plans to have more than 20 fully and 10 partially electric models accounting for 40 percent of its sales, and to reduce by 30 percent, compared to 2015 levels, the carbon footprint of its vehicle fleet across the entire lifecycle. It has been accelerating its electrification roadmap and company-wide decarbonization as it intends to be carbon-neutral no later than 2050.

Audi has taken the first steps with the Audi e-tron, which has since become the worldwide market leader in the fully electric SUV segment, and the e-tron Sportback that followed. Audi’s fully electric range continues to expand, with the launch of the new Audi RS e-tron GT and the e-tron GT being the latest development.

The Audi RS e-tron GT, which now spearheads the e-tron and Audi Sport ranges, and e-tron GT redefine Gran Turismo motoring. Both four-door coupe models are characterized by emotive design, a high-performance electric powertrain, dynamic handling, a long range, and luxurious and comfortable ride quality. The fully electric models appeal to a sophisticated, performance-oriented market which values design, smart technology and sustainability.

Each model has two electric motors located on its front and rear axles. The motors in the Audi RS e-tron GT produce up to 646 horsepower and 830 Nm, and those in the e-tron GT as much as 530 horsepower and 640 Nm, when launch control overboost is activated.

In both models, the motors are combined with a two-speed transmission. The quattro electric all-wheel drive system guarantees them stability and traction in any driving situation.

The electric powertrain in the Audi RS e-tron GT and e-tron GT operates at 800 volts, allowing for fast charging via direct current (DC). Under ideal conditions, charging time from 5 to 80 percent takes about half an hour. If using the standard alternating current (AC) system, charging an empty battery can be done at home overnight. A fully charged battery can deliver a range of up to 488 kilometers.

Audi Philippines and its showrooms on EDSA, Mandaluyong; Bonifacio Global City; Westgate Alabang; and SM Seaside Cebu are now taking orders for the RS e-tron GT and e-tron GT.
