After a pre-selling period that first started in March, Motor Image Pilipinas, the exclusive distributor of Subaru vehicles in the Philippines has officially turned over the first batch of Evoltis SUVs to its owners.
Also known as the Ascent in North America, the Philippines is the only market in Asia (including Japan) to offer the Evoltis. Made in Lafayette, Indiana by Subaru of Indiana Automotive, it is billed as a true 7-seater SUV. It is the largest Subaru ever put into production with an interior volume of over 4,700 liters. Despite an overall length of below five meters, it has more interior volume than both the Ford Explorer (3,340 liters) and the Mazda CX-9 (3,825 liters). It is very close to the Ford Expedition Max’s 4,867 liters.
More than just pure space, the Evoltis Touring EyeSight model comes packed with luxury features such as the award-winning 8-inch Starlink infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; a 14-speaker, 792-watt Harman/Kardon sound system; a 54-inch panoramic sunroof; a three-zone climate control system with rear-seat controls; smart rear-view mirror; multiple USB ports and power outlets; and 19 cup and bottle holders.
Powering the Evoltis is a turbocharged 2.4-liter FA24 4-cylinder boxer engine. Making its Philippine debut, this engine makes 260 horsepower and 375 Nm of torque. Mated to a Lineartronic CVT, it has enough grunt to tow 5,000 pounds (2,267 kilograms).
With 220 mm of ground clearance and equipped with Subaru’s signature Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and X-MODE as standard, it can easily traverse through floods, and can go where other SUVs would have difficulty reaching.
The Evoltis also comes with Subaru EyeSight as standard. The best-in-class advanced driver assist system bundles Adaptive Cruise Control, Pre-Collision Braking, Pre-Collision Throttle Management, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Sway Warning, and Lead Vehicle Start Assist.
“We are entering the Premium 7-seater SUV market with this spacious, feature-packed model. It has the best safety features in the segment with EyeSight as standard. It has excellent handling, drivability, and power, possessing all the hallmarks of a Subaru vehicle built on the Subaru Global Platform and equipped with Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. It can even tow boats! It is well-designed and practical, with thoughtful details to make every journey comfortable for all passengers, such as second-row Captain Seats, and true third row seating. It may not be the cheapest in its segment, but it is the best value proposition for the family,” said Mr. Gerry Hernandez, Country Manager of Motor Image Pilipinas, Inc.
The 2021 Subaru Evoltis 2.4 Touring EyeSight is available for P 3.480 million and comes in five colors: Crystal White Pearl, Ice Silver Metallic, Crystal Black Silica, Crimson Red Pearl, and a new shade which also makes its debut on this model—Abyss Blue Pearl.
The first 50 customers who register online, and complete their Evoltis purchase will also receive a limited-edition watch to match their car.

That maybe, but the price, highly questionnable
ReplyDeleteThe Philippine Market is the only market with car journalists who will praise this rip-off of a car.
ReplyDeleteYou complain too much as if you can afford it.😂
DeleteThere's still a market for the Evoltis Touring.
Yeah maybe 1 or 2 buyers a year.
DeleteHalf a million more than the CX9-4WD is really pushing it.
ReplyDeleteEvoltis Touring is the top of the line variant full options of the Subaru Ascent that's why its priced like that..Its also made in Ame where the cost of shipping and taxes slapped on it per unit are high.
Deletewhen Honda brought in the Pilot from US (which is a direct competitor of the Evoltis/Ascent, which was cheaper (although not by much) Didn't really click.....Pano pa this? 3.4m :O
ReplyDeleteDead on arrival. Unless maybe you really hate the CX9 or Explorer.
ReplyDeleteIt’s expensive because it’s made in America.
