The distinct character features of the Land Rover Discovery remain such as the clamshell hood, stepped roof, and highly-visible C-pillar. But for 2021, it gets a visual massage. At the front, it receives new LED headlights with a new DRL lighting signature along with a refreshed bumper and side vents. At the back, a new gloss black panel integrates the trademark Discovery script following Land Rover’s reductive design philosophy.

Inside, the 2021 Discovery features full-sized seating for seven. The premium finished interior is capped off by a redesigned center console that happens to house the brand’s new Pivi Pro infotainment system. This 11.4-inch full HD system provides a fast and intuitive interface through its touchscreen-based controls. The same system can even configure the seating layout using the touchscreen.

In combination with the Interactive Driver Display, the new Discovery provides high-definition 3D mapping within the instrumentation, leaving the central touchscreen free to control other applications. The high-resolution digital instruments can be configured to show a pair of conventional dials, full-screen 3D navigation guidance or a combination of the two, allowing drivers to customize the view to suit their preference.

Smartphone integration is also simple, thanks to Apple CarPlay, while the advanced Bluetooth technology can connect two smartphones simultaneously. Android Auto is also available as standard.

Available in the D250 trim, the Discovery now features a 3.0-liter inline-6 diesel engine with 249 horsepower and 570 Nm of torque. In addition, it now benefits from a 48-volt Mild Hybrid (MHEV) technology promising even better fuel efficiency.

The 2021 Discovery also offers standard electric air suspension enhancing riding comfort. Adaptive Dynamics damper technology, monitors vehicle movements up to 500 times a second, reacting to driver or road inputs almost instantaneously for greater body control, ensuring a composed, flat ride. And with Terrain Response technology, it’s always automatically primed to suit any driving conditions while the new Wade Mode optimizes the vehicle for deep water fording (up to 900 mm). It can even apply the brakes automatically when the driver disengages Wade Mode to restore full performance from the first application of the brakes.

The 2021 Land Rover Discovery S D250 is now available at All British Cars’s showroom either at EDSA, Greenhills or Bonifacio Global City in Taguig. Two new exterior colors—Hakuba Silver and Lantau Bronze join the palette. Prices start at P 6.490 million.
