The Philippines is still waiting for the all-new Nissan Almera to arrive (it’s rumored to come in the next few months), but in Thailand, where it’s assembled, they got a new sporty version called the Almera Sportech.
Designed and developed by Autech Japan, the Almera Sportech gets enhanced styling with new front and rear bumpers, a glossy black front grille, and a sporty rear spoiler. Aside from the Sportech logo on the rear trunk, it also gets silver-colored side mirrors and two-tone 15-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the Almera Sportech goes for a dominantly black color scheme with dark gray stitching to provide contrast. It also gets dark metallic trim on the side air vents and a piano black decoration on the gear knob and steering wheel spokes.
Mechanically, the Almera Sportech doesn’t get any tweaks. Thus, for the Thai market, it gets a turbocharged HRA0 engine with 100 horsepower and 152 Nm of torque. It also comes equipped with an idling stop function. The sole gearbox is an Xtronic CVT with built-in step logic for smoother gear changes.
It’s currently unknown whether Nissan Philippines will offer a sportier version of the Almera, but it must be remembered that they did offer the Almera with a N-Sport edition way back in 2019.
Nissan motor Philippines is always Late in Car Launch. It took atleast two years from other countries before they introduce it's vehicle here in manila. What a shame.
ReplyDeleteAgree much. Slow for those models already available abroad. Slow also to cover markets already being served by competitors.
