Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP), through its dealer Toyota Marikina City extends support to the local government with a donation of rubber boats and communications equipment; an effort to strengthen the emergency preparedness of the residents and its community leaders. After a devastating typhoon in 2020, which put the Marikina in a state of calamity, TMP has applied its discipline of continuous improvement by reinforcing resources to help keep the city safe and coordinated.
Present in the turnover ceremony were Marikina City Mayor Marcelino Teodoro, Acting City Administrator Janet Obispo, and Marikina Rescue 161 Head Mr. Dave David, together with Toyota Marikina General Manager Ms. Maria Teresa Cabellon, and other representatives as they forge a pledge of support to one another.
“Toyota Motor Philippines, and Toyota Marikina are proud to be your partner in moving Marikina’s people, the economy, and the government through the vehicles that respond to your varying needs. With this pledge of support in the form of these donations, we are also committing to be your partner in protecting lives, especially now that we are approaching the country’s typhoon season.” Toyota Motor Philippines President Atsuhiro Okamoto said in a statement for the turnover event.
Driven by the mission to provide Filipinos the access to mobility, this effort further facilitates the cause to connect more people safely and with enough preparation. Now more than ever, there is a need to move persons, goods and services, striving to cut through the current challenges. And TMP is ready to reinforce the partnership between the private and public sectors so they can help each other take care of the communities. Last year, Toyota Motor Philippines donated 30 Philippine-made Vios units to public hospitals in Metro Manila and Laguna in the efforts to help mobilize healthcare frontliners.
Toyota Marikina is one of the first Toyota dealerships in the Philippines and is serving hundreds of customers a day from car sales, to after sales service, and parts; and for many years has helped expand the brand in the eastern parts of Metro Manila.
