Geely’s keeping their sub-compact SUV, the Coolray refresh with a 2021 update that gains revisions both inside and out.
Going on sale in Mainland China next month, the 2021 Coolray gets a new honeycomb grille design that replaces the current “expanding cosmos” one. Along with the grille, the front bumper’s been changed to add a grayed-out portion that gives it more visual heft befitting an SUV. The headlight shape remains the same, but Geely has incorporated a new “welcome sequence” when the vehicle’s unlocked.
Geely’s offering a variety of playful color schemes for the 2021 Coolray, one of which is this striking yellow one. Regardless of color, it seems the Chinese carmaker will be offering a two-tone paint scheme as standard.
Inside, the 2021 Coolray gets a massive 12.3-inch touchscreen which replaces the current 10.25-inch one. Sadly, Apple CarPlay or Android Auto don’t seem to be on the menu. What will be made available is ambient lighting (72 colors to choose from) that can be made to match the driving mode or the rhythm of the music played. Also new is the re-shaped gear selector.
Underneath, the Coolray remains unchanged for 2021. With that, the 177-horsepower 1.5-liter 3-cylinder turbo remains. In other markets, it also gets a choice between a 1.0-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder and even a normally-aspirated 1.4-liter.
